Before creating Philly Star DJ’s (Philly Star Events), I was thrilled to get a fun job (my first post-college job) working in the Event Services Department at a prestigious 5-Star hotel chain, The Ritz-Carlton. Due to the nature of my work, attending upscale parties and weddings each weekend was a ‘norm’. Work at the hotel also allowed me to the chance to observe performances of various local DJ’s and Music Entertainers. Oftentimes, many entertainers that I observed lack a certain “je ne sais quoi” or “a cool edge” needed to tastefully take energy levels to higher plateaus. Performances were vanilla and boring. Even worse, some entertainers were unnecessarily chatty when making important yet simple announcements.
2 years before I began working for The Ritz-Carlton, I met Joe who worked as a DJ in the Night Life scene at local casinos and night clubs.
Timed passed. Joe talked with me about my work experiences and the lack-luster performances of many DJ’s. A FANTASTIC plan was hatched. A new business partnership between Joe and I was born.
We are caring entrepreneurs and owner-operators with a hands-on approach when it comes to handling all areas of our boutique event business. There are many DJ, entertainment and event production companies today, however, our passion and dedication, top roster of talent, industry event awards and the media attention we’ve received speaks volumes.
